Turn signals

I have a 2001 expedition with 70,000 miles. When I have the steering wheel tilted all the way down my right rear turn signal and brake light are inop. When I have the steering wheel all the way up they work as normal. I haven't had time to take the cover off to inspect the wires from the turn signal switch. My question is has anybody had this problem? I am guessing there is a broken wire and as I move the tilt steering it loses contact. Any info would be great.

As you said either a broken wire or you may have a loose connection to the multifunctuion switch.

Ok I took the top cover off today to inspect the wiring. There was a broken wire right at the connector to the multifunction switch. I also noticed that the wires seemed to short and would pull when you tilt the steering wheel all the way down. Then as I inspected further I saw a couple wires were pulled out of the connector a little bit. They pull so hard that it broke the keepers in the connector. I have to go and buy a new connector now. Just a FYI for everyone.
