TampaTony is starting off with a positive reputation.
6.0L Intercooler??

I just installed an AEM intake and BD Turbo 4" downtube to a 5" pipe on a 2004 6.0L turbo-diesel. I was looking over the engine and noticed the turbo outlet and the engine manifold intake elbow are within 12" of each other. Why go thru 8-10 feet of Aluminum tubing and an intercooler and just cut straight a cross? With a cold air intake how much cooler would the HOT tubing under the hood and intercooler really make compared to traveling 12" right to the elbow? And wouldn't throttle response be better with the shorter travel?

If you're asking why go through the IC, it is becuase the intake air get's REAL hot when it's compressed by the turbo, which it would stay (hot) if you eliminated the IC. If you're thinking that the intake charge picks up more heat (going through 8-10 of tubing) than is drawn out by the IC then you are mistaken.

Do it right, do it once (perhaps twice if you try to run more than 14psi on stock rods, or if you don't read the instructions properly).

6L PWR is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Intercoolers are known to drop intake air temp by 250-300 degrees! You want 350-400 degree air going into the engine? No way I do.
