1998 2.5L timing belt change

Have a 1998 2.5L that I just did a timing belt change. All the marks lined up after turning over the motor 2 turns. When driven it has alot of pinging under acceleration in all gears. Is this a non-interference motor?
Can I move the cam sprocket either one tooth to the right or left and see if the pinging goes away? I'm stumped why it pings!
