Unhappy Black trim around windows

I have an 07 F150XL, 2 weeks old, just built. I noticed when i picked it up the trim around the windows already looked bad and it was brand new. I am happy with this truck in every way and this is not a big deal but it has alot of this black plastic trim and it is already fading and discoloring. Anyone else notice this? Any suggestions? Thanks, Guy

I had the black trim around the rear slider peel away due to water getting behind the strip and freezing.

molding polish

I use turtle wax product ICE. It’s a synthetic polish you can use on the body moldings as well as the rest of your truck. No white residue to worry about. Looks nice when truck is polished with it, but does little to repel water like a good wax. Enjoy your new ride. BWEP

I just armor all mine (assume you're talking about the pieces between the doors at window-level). It streaks so you have to keep wiping it until it's even. Mine looks ok, but it seems like everyone wants to touch that part of the door when they close it!

I use turtle wax ICE WAX also on all my black trim and it make it shine and it does a better job "I think" than armor all.

black trim

Speaking of trim, what can I use to remove the white residue left from the Mcguires wax I used? It seems like a week or 2 after I waxed, the white streaks showed up on all my exterrior plastic trim.

ice

Black04lariat the answer is no. I have used other products that after it rains it bleeds down into your paint making it look crappy. This is a polish you use on your paint and also on trim. There is no need to be carefully with it like wax on your plastic. The purpose is to use it on both. Give it a try I’m sure you will be happy with the results. Just remember it does not protect like a wax. I use it in between waxing to keep the shine up.BWEP

BWEP - So does this Ice leave a shiny look to the plastic or how does it make the trim look. As yu said, I am trying to get away from my paint looking crappy after a rain.

turtle wax ice

Black04lariat it leaves a shine like Amor all on all plastic surfaces and wax like shine on painted surfaces. It’s a clear liquid that drys to a lite haze ,then buff off with cloth to reveal shine. I have not tried yet but I’ve hurd you can even apply to tires for wet tire look. BWEP

I like Vinylex Wipes for the window trim and mirrors. It leaves a nice sheen and isn't sticky or greasy.
