My buddy just bought a 78 F150 for $500. It has a 351w and automatic tranny. 4in lift and decent 35in mud tires. It is kinda rusty, but it would just be a mud toy, and i was planning on taking the bed off anyways. He spent about $100 to get it running, and wants to sell it to me for $650 so he can buy a Chebby Does it sound like a good deal to you, i figure i can always part it out later and get most of my money back for it. what do you guys think?

 

If it's up and running and a four wheel drive, lifted, with decent rubber, 4x4 works, you shouldn't get hurt for the money. Unless it's just a junker.....

 

I'd jump on it.

Take a good look at at first tho. I'm certain that a 1978 F150 was not built with a 351W in it. Someone may have swapped one in there, but odds are it originally had a 351M or a 400 in it.

Take your time and check out all of the truck that you intend to use.
