FrankC-2, check out your front axel and make sure it's not the same as the F-1. I have a '55 and '53 f-250 and the the parts books for the same and the front axels are the same. The only difference is the Brake drums and I think the Bearings/races. You might be able the just swap out the front drums if you want to go 5 lug instead of 8 lug. On mine, anyway, the kingpins and spindles, tie rod ends and tie rod are the same from the F-100 thru F-250. Numberdummy might be able to help you on this. Don't get rid of that axel yet though, you might not need to.

F1/F2/F3 all had the same axle. The F1 brakes and drums will bolt to your F2 axle and give you a 5x5.5 pattern. Find a rear end out of a 57-72 F100. It will virtually bolt in (you may have to fabricate some shock brackets) and has the same 5x5.5 pattern. That would be easier than trying to find 5 lug axles to fit your F2 rear (don't think there is such a thing anyway).

You can always get a disc brake conversion kit from ECI, SAC vintage or Speedway to name a few. That way you'll up date the brakes and get a 5 lug bolt pattern. Good Luck.
