hell no i don't regret it! All I did was rebuild an eight horse briggs engine for a lawn mower and he gave me the truck! cost me 32 bucks! lol best 2 bucks i ever spent. after i dropped more than 150 dollars in it. I had a damn good running truck.

Not at all

My first vehicle was actually a car. The old man bought me a '70 Mustang fastback w/ a 302 and a 4 spd for $3k when as about 15. Don't get to excited, cuz the other guy came out ahead. If you've seen the Transformers movie, image the orignal Bumblebee Camaro, only ALOT worse. Bout the same color, too actually. Over the next three years, I bagged groceries for min. wage, sank my graduation money, and most of the cash I'd earned washing cars, a paper route, and anything else into. Now it's got a built 351w, a Tremec 5 spd, 9in rear, full interior, and good paint. Serves as my daily driver April thru OCtober, get 23 mpg highway, and runs 8.80's at 85 mph in an 1/8 mile on street tires and 93 octane.

My second ride, I bought myself three years ago after working in the coal mines when I was home from college. 1995 F-150 XLT s/b s/c w/ a 302 and a 5 spd for $4000. Even came with a toolbox and that trademark Ford wheel well rot. Since then, I had to patch the wheel wells, the rear spring hangers, put in a rear locker, and had to replace the clutch cylinder cuz the SOB put a new clutch in and desided to save $30 and leave the old one in. Now the motor's bout gone and I'm planning to drop in a 3.9, 4 cylinder Cummins and start out pulling my buddies Hemi Ram 1500s and Nissan Titans.

Even though both of them have real pains some times, I'll never sell either of 'em. Heck, I'll probably be buried with 'em. The Mustang cuz it was my first ride and had alot of good times. The 150 cuz it's the first one I bought and I still think it looks better then just bout any other body style.

Did anyone else spend way too much money on their truck and not realise it until they started buying gas? lmao
Cheap trucks are usually the hardest to afford. I still partly regert spending 34k on mine, but the payments don't cost a whole lot more than what the other truck was without making payments on it.

Eh, I guess I could have written that better... It just makes you think when you have a friend who buys a truck for $250, and the one you bought for $4,000 needs just as much work... haha

I don't know. I'd expect 4000 to buy a truck that's about ten years old, in good shape with 2wd or a little rough with 4wd. I'd expect it to be pretty reliable, and even if you did have to spend some money on it, it'd still be worth about as much when you sell it.

70 2wd I payed $1K for, that was a rip off, it never let me down, but it was one beater POS...

79 4x4 I have now was free, but I've dropped a few thousand into it. Not bad considering it has under 2000 miles on the motor and trans now...
