Mudproofing, what am I missing?

Well, I'm prepping the 460 truck for the bogs...
After last years experience I have a pretty good idea as to what I should be doing.
Here's what I either have done, or have planned.
Seal the dizzy/wires/etc.
Seal up the belly of the truck, mudflaps in the engine compartment tied to the inner fenders, and frame, and belting closing in the frame all the way back to the t-case.
Seal up the bellhousing.
Air cleaner - I'm going to see about running it into the cab tomorrow.
Rad - I'm debating blocking it off, or leaving it open, some of the guys were running full tarps from the engine x-member up to the hood... I should be re-locating it to the bed, but, not at this time.
Diff/trans/tcase vents are all run up to the firewall.
I gotta be missing something, any suggestions?

if it hasn't been done yet this year repack your front wheel bearings, fresh clean grease is better at repelling water and mud than old worn out seals and grease.

everything sounds pretty cool, but I have one question. That belly sealing thing I have seen, and have asked about with mixed reviews. One will never keep mud out of even the most unexplained areas, so how does trying to keep it out help? Are you not just holding more weight when the mud climbs on top of the rubber mats, or tarp? I mean it is pretty impossible to seal the stuff out, so it would get pretty heavy half way through the pass, and once you were done there would be a bunch of work getting it out between rounds.
Keeping the weight down is the key right? Guys are cutting the floors out of the beds, and removing all they can so mud can't stay with the vehicle, so does that actually make sense?
I am asking out of curiosity, not being critical. Trying to learn......

The mud I'm going to be dealing with, well, it's red clay mixed with fine silt... A year later, and my diesel still has it hiding in places... LOL

I've re-thought the belly sealing, I'm just going to go from the rad support back to the engine crossmember, just to try and keep spray from getting up on the front of the engine/acessories and distributor.

I fabbed a belly pan for my truck using thin sheet aluminum, drilled and tapped the frame to hold it on.

I also have another 8" wide piece behind the crossmember..not shown in this pic. There are more pics in my gallery titled "truck and shop"

Well, the races have come and gone, and I definatley need to do some sealing... Even with the grille/under the pullies tarped, The belts were still gatching mud and throwing it everywhere, and it was 3" deep at the distributor... LOL
This is what good mudproofing does:

And under the hood at the same time:
[img]http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g103/82f100swb/Atikokan%2007/?action=view&current=Pictures-014.jpg[.img]
That truck is plain 'ol badass... I wish my 460 made the power his does... LOL

My junk on the trailer ready to head home:

I need better tires, ignition, and I'm sucking the carb bowls dry pretty quick, but, I'm making about double the power I expected, and my cam has me confused... It's only supposed to pull to 4500, but, I was running 5500+ and pedaling it to stay under 6K and it was pulling HAAAAARD doing it.
I placed about 6th in Mod class, which is 40" tire, my 9.00R16's aren't even 35" tall anymore... LOL
Best time in class was an 11.9, my best was a 13.5 that I sputtered(lost the ignition) the last 1/4 of the track and stalled as I crossed the lights at the end... LOL
