we dont get the best, cuz we got the epa. i for one would be happy to trade.

Ooooo, burn..........I'll remember that one.

But I still have to give some credit to the detroit automakers, they knew the EPA (hehe), was going to make things more difficult, these policies don't come out of no where. Ford knew that the 6.0 would not conform to EPA 08, and ford also knew that change was comming, but instead of keeping an eye on the future, they sold obsolete products and made only a half hearted effort to adapt.

Diesels are not dirty engines. In fact they are more fuel efficient, and produce less incomplete burn than a comparable gasoline powerplant. It is my opinion that diesels have more potential for low emission operation than any gasser that we are likey to have access to.

As a side note, the chrysler jeep grand cherokee is now avalable with a 3.0L turbo diesel, and apearently it moves quite well, not sure how good an engine it is (mercedes V6), but its a start.
