Ahh crap false info...so says snopes

Just a "Heads up" on 7/1 new laws and fines apply.....

New Driving Fines for 2007

1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted
on the highway is old). Don't do it again because 2nd time is going to be
double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.

I like the one about cell phones. Although I have been guilty of using mine while driving as well, I will now have incentive to stop. And those ladys putting on their makeup in the rear view mirror, while on their cell phone, while driving in morning traffic, will no longer contribute to the already hazardous drive to work.
Well, at least they will take a look at the road once in a while to check for cops. That would be an improvement over being completely oblivious to their surroundings.
