Anyone running biodiesel in their 6.0 PSD? I have a F-350 PSD and would like to see my fuel money go to American farmers rather than mid-east countries--except I don't want to ruin my engine.
So, is anyone else running biodiesel in the 6.0 PSD?
I run bio in my 6L and it runs great on B100, the engine sounds very smooth, and the truck doesn't seem to loose any power. During the winter I was up in the mountains and it got down to 32 degrees at night and didn't not have any problems starting in the morning. I have had some injector problems recently though with my truck. I don't think it was related to the bio but the fact that my fuel filters got so clogged that the injectors starved for fuel. Another reason I don't think the bio was to blame is because my OASIS report states that 4 injectors were replaced 15k miles ago and im guessing the previous owner was using regular deisel. I would say that if you decide to use bio make sure you at least check your fuel filters and change them if necissary.

Adambomb, please go to a sponser here call Lubricationspecialties.com and order the hot shot secret. I guarantee and so will a bunch other along with my dad and Chris a LS that this stuff will work great on your injectors within 100 miles...it goes directly into your oil not your fuel. Its worth every penny with a guarantee.

funny you might say that because I just ordered a bottle earlier today. As soon as I get it, I am going to change my oil with Schaeffers Supreme 7000 Synthetic and add the Hot Shot Secret and see what happens.
GOOD LOOKING OUT I APPRECIATE IT

No dont do that, change with regular oil then at 3k change to sythetic. Let it do its work with regular oil so your not wasting the money in synthetic. You want it to knock all the junk into your oil that you dont care about. After that you can run synthetic and 100 bio and it will last forever because the oil will stay perfectly clean with bio.

Hi, GreenSalsa
I run aprrox b-10 in my '07 since I bought it new with no problems @2500 miles. I don't drive it very much, just on the weekends. (have a company vehicle f-550)
I only use a commercial grade bio. and cut it with regular diesel.
If you travel (in the winter) to the north country. Be sure to have the bio at B20 or less. Cold weather doesn't agree with biodiesel especially over B20 at zero deg or less.

Do I understand correctly that you run 100 BIO with no mods? I had the chance to put in B100 this last week, but I was afraid, so I mixed it 4 gallons of B100 with the remainder of the fill at Dino #2.
I wouldn't use any homemade BIO, just commercial stuff, I can't imagine there would be any problem, I'm just looking for others that have tried it first, I can't afford to pay for repairs myself, and I don't want to sacrafice my warranty.
I would like to put in more BioD. to help the environment, and the local economy, but of course FORD will only warranty to 5% as everyone knows. I have had no issues or problems with my truck at any time, and have changed the oil, and filters before the recommended mileages.
Thanks.

I'm doing my part to reduce our dependency on foreign oil and clean up the environment; my truck runs on 100% biodiesel made from soybean oil grown by U.S. farmers. What are you doing?
I've been running Bio in my '06 since it was three months old. I now have around 12,000 miles on it and still have the original fuel filters. I live in the north east and in the winter I thin it with regular diesel and an anti-gell. I ran B-40 most of the winter with no problems. Oh yea it's all home made in my garage.
