Hi all,

I have been thinking about this for a while and wanted to ask you guys to see what y'all think. Is there anything to keep a stock engine from self-destructing while in 4-low and having the pedal on the floor? I've had my 302 up to a bit over 5K rpms already but I backed off. I've searched the board but have only found a vague reference to a possible rpm limiter and a speed limiter. I know for sure a speed-limiter will not help any while in 4-low. Does an rpm limiter exist in an '88 Bronco?

Dustin: Ford began installing rev limiters on their vehicles in 1988. That is the year that Ford began using the ecu that we now have in the newer vehicles. So to answer your question, yes there is a rev limiter on your truck.
