New Father/Son Project (pictures)
I traded a Holley Street Avenger 670 and $200 for this 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7. It's got a 351 Cleveland and an auto trans with the T-handle floor shift. As you can imagine, it doesn't run and the interior is a disaster, but it's 99% there and the body is in excellent shape. You should have seen my 15 year olds eyes when I told him I'd bought it for his high school project. He's going to pay for everything from this moment out with money he earns working at my company during school breaks.

That is definitely a sweet ride! I have a '73 Galaxie that sits next to the house that I'm going to eventually restore, and one day a father\son rang the doorbell and asked if it was for sale, because they were looking for a project. I couldn't give it up though. That is definitely a great looking car and I hope he enjoys it! Things always mean a lot more when you work hard and put them together yourself.
