Well it would be nice to be the first one in the block with the new ford, but Im going to put my money on the 6.2 when and if its coming, I currently have a 2005 5.4 supercrew I love it and use it for everything and I mean everything its all chromed out its riding on 22s and has a airaide intake and flowmasters and a hypertec programer and all those things bring the truck to life no joke next thing that im working on is a supercharger if the wife dont get involved im looking at kenbell or ford racing whipple screw blower they both give out some nice ponies

Sorry but the 09 up F150 won't be avaliable with a standard tranny. I read that when Ken first put up the info.

i'd have no problem buying an 09...even if it came out (unless it got 20mpg) i wouldn't be buying a 6.2 anyhow....i'm not worried about tranny issues.....and the rest of the truck I think will be spot on.....only problem is I won't be needing a new truck for a few years since I love my 07 so much.....I'll prolly look at a 2010 or 11....

hmm, wait for 2010? I have no need for the 6.2 plus the rumors are it might only come out in the Harley model first. The Eco V6 sounds interesting but I'm not convinced it will make that much of a difference in MPG's (article from Ford said only 1 or 2mpg difference in an Explorer, so what about our heavy trucks?) and it also could cost more plus have bugs since it's a new motor. I'm not afraid of the first year model changes though, I bought an 04, and plus the warranty will cover any problems.

With that said, my current plans are to order an 09 shortly after the order bank opens so I have the first one on the block!

After going through all the new interesting issues ford designed into my 04, most which aren't fixed to this day, I won't be buying a 09. Give ford at least a couple model years to work out the bugs. I used to feel I should have waited for the 05's after I bought the 04, then I found out about the bad fuel injectors they sourced for the 05's and I'm glad I missed that. They only way ford could even get me to consider the first model year of anything they build would be if they gave some kind of super duper all encompassing ironclad factory warranty on the thing, not the bs warranty they currently screw the customers with. Meaning that if anything and I do mean anything went wrong with it, they would fix it no questions asked and would apologize for the inconvenience. I mean if they are going to use the first year customers as guineas pigs anyway, shouldn't they be able to get something a little extra for their troubles?

If Ford had half a clue they would have waited until they had a decent engine for the new build before releasing it to the public.

IF they come out with marginally increased numbers for this old tired 5.4 their sales are going to be in the toilet.
Add in their notorious first year major quality build issues and most people would be better off waiting for the 010's or 011's.

depends on the power for me. something tells me i'll be waiting for the boss, or go to a V10 SD.

I have no problem with owning a first year production vehicle... I've had a 96 mustang with the exploding intake option package, an 04 F150 with the oh so famous spark plugs, and not scared by owning something new... plus, doesn't seem the 09 is that radically new - not as much as the 96 mustang was compared to the 95 and the 04 150 compared to the 03...

It's the F150 we shoulda had in 04 the 99 mustang (motors especially) are what we shoulda had in 96. It always seems that Ford puts out a model, lasts a few years, then they put out a slightly redesigned model with a lot of bugs fixed, a bit more power, etc. then they start all over again w/ a whole new model.

Too bad cars aren't like windows - you buy it new then when the new updated model with all bug fixes comes out - the service pack - you download it and upgrade it to make it work the way it should have from the beginning (with non exploding intakes and spark plugs that come out in one piece)

Sweet! I was just wanting to make sure that the info. that the Ford rep gave at the Tulsa Auto Show about taking orders in May (May 16th) was correct and it looks like he was.
