How's it tied into your existing set-up? Looks good! I travel cross country on ocassion, and yes, it's good to stop from time to time, but knowing you're good to go for that extra hundred miles is good insurance.

Good question, I am wondering the same.

Looks good! How many gallons? I am thinking about getting a new tank (or a tank like yours) for my '08 when it shows up, the stock 30 gallons won't cut it.

I'll run it into the stock filler neck. I still have to buy a pump and a check valve.
I don't like stoping of fuel on are sled trips, so an extra 85 gal should come in handy.

Truck 110 liters and tank 321 liters= 431 liters X 80.3 =$346.09 Can
Not that bad.
Or 115 gal X $3.37 =387.55 US, never mind factoring the exchange.

if you put that tank in a focus, it would be like you were in a fish tank of fuel...

I just bought a new 91 gal tool and fuel combo box http://www.rdsaluminum.com/fueltoolboxcombo.html
and plan on installing it in a week or two. I plan on taking pics and doing a write-up on the install. This will be the third one that I have installed. I just use a 3/8 x 6 inch steel brake line and bend it 90* remove the filler neck and drill a hole into the steel part and braze the fuel line in. then I run 3/8 rubber fuel line to the pump I buy from Napa http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=NFP&PartNumber= P4070&Description=Fuel+Pump+(Univ.+In-Line+Rotary+Vane+Type) that we have alot of success with. We used to use a cheaper pump, but they never lasted long. The cheaper ones don't like to suck air too much and that what kills them. Your gonna suck air when you get to the bottom of the tank theres no way to get around it (unless you want to leave 10 gallons or more in the tank). The Napa pump has a lifetime warranty, but we have never used it. One of my dad's drivers uses a holly pump out of one of his race cars. I will let everyone know when I have the write-up finished.

A gravity feed tank is not usdot legal. Plus how will you keep the over filling and spilling all the fuel out onto the road (it's happened to our guys in the past). I like having a switch on the dash and never having to stop and get out.

Extra Tank...

I have a 100 gallon aluminum tank on my bed. It flows out the bottom into the filler neck of the stock front tank. It also has the vent coming out of the filler neck that goes back to the top of the extra tank. I used a pump for several years with a switch and finally threw it away. I have filter and block valve between bottom of tank and and filler neck. The truck tank is alway full if the big tank has fuel in it. I also have a fuel gauge on the big tank. SO when it is empty and tank gauge on dash starts to go down, then I buy fuel. I fill the lower tank first and put cap on, then fill the big tank.. Works perfect and no pump to mess with... Also allow your diesel to burn from older to newer on fill ups....
Yes it cost more to fill up but you sure can drive a long ways between fill ups.. Guess it works out the same..... Here is picture of my setup..
