Just got a new 2008 Escape for my new company vehicle and it has no hooks to hang my clothes bar on. My 03 that I turned in had grab bars in the back seat to hang my clothes bar on. Anybody have any ideas. I travel a lot and need somewhere to hang my clothes.
My 2005 Escape has the handles and the clothing hooks but my 2006 doesn't. My only guesses are they eliminated them to save money or because myy '06 has the side airbags. I'm stuck hanging uniforms from the rear seat headrest when I am using the '06.
Just a thought, but have you tried hanging the bar from the front passenger headrest support bar to one of the rear headrest support bars? I realize you lose height, especially over the rear seat, but you will expand your hanging area.
For my '02 Escape I tied a 3/4" dowel rod to the tether strap connectors using shoe strings. You can put finials on the ends to keep your clothes on the rod.
Jeez...I just bought a used 05 Explorer and mine has neither clothing hooks, grab anythings, except for a (and I am being kind to Ford here) $2.74 hook in the rear. I figure it was put there to ensure that my blind spot is complete. Any unique ideas for hanging clothes. I would send Ford the $2.74, but its the recession.
