Very interested in the purchase of a superchip at these low prices. Would the purchase of a chip mandate the use of higher-than-87 octane gasoline? I saw some posts about having to use premium, but I wonder if that would refer to my I6?

Thanks!

Yes, it will require higher octane.

BEAGLE: The chips require the use of premium on all vehicles. We advance the timing for slower-burning premium. You would most likely get pinging with regular fuel.

The chips modify the shifting points on automatics...

With a manual, would I still see performance increases? Could you please tell me what all the chip will actually do?

Thanks for your time.

You would still see a 10% increade in horsepower. The rev limint will be raise at full throttle.

You would still see a 10% gain in horsepower. We advance the timing, alter the timing curve, alter the air/fuel ratio, raise the rev and speed limiters.
Thanks

Nick: If you have all the performance that you need, you do not need a performance chip. It will not help your mileage, it will not help the longevity of your truck, why do it, if not for the power????? They are, after all, called "Performance Chips".

Well, I would like a higher top speed. My truck literally cannot go faster than 80mph. I would like a quicker transition to 3rd gear. It feels like I have NO power in 1 or 2 and it takes forever to get through them. Maybe a chip isn't what I need, but I sure need some help somewhere...
