Why slideout seals are like shingles

The bottom exterior slideout seal is supposed to be overlapped by the side seals. I am specifically talking about (some would say "SPEAKING TO", but I'm not posting this to a piece of RUBBER) the wiper seals .

The top seal that goes across the top of the box opening needs to overlap the side wiper seals.

LIKE SHINGLES.....

Done this way, all water shed by the top seal runs OVER the side seals, and OVER the bottom seal. You don't want any of your seals to act like a FUNNEL and direct shed water INTO the coach.

I fixed one of those today... The bottom seal was added by some busybody after the fact, and it layed over the side seals. The result was that water running down the side seals was directed right inside the coach on both sides of the gentlemans bed....

Fixing the situation called for replacing the seals all the way around the slideout IN ORDER.
