Brand NEW member-2007 King Ranch SuperCrew Sub question!!!

Hi,

Brand new to this site....just bought a 07' Screw KR with the Audiophile audio system....need more. I have the speakers picked out from the feeback here but I don't think the Bazooka 8" will fit without it lloking bad.....I really love the "clean" look....I like my music hidden so to speak. So I was wanting to know if 2 6" Bazooka tubes might work? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Mark

p.s. Just put in the Borla and K&N and loving the changes....took out the Helix, too much whislte for me.

those bazooka tubes dont really do a lot. you would be better off getting a box that fits under the rear seat for either (1) 12, (2) 10's, etc and mounting the amp either on the back wall or under the other side of teh rear seat. in my experience those tubes arent very loud. i have 2 10's under the rear seat and amps mounted on the back wall. look in my gallery for how the amps are mounted. they also make a box for one 12, 10, or 8 that fits where the factory sub goes and only takes up half the rear seat and would allow you to mount an amp on the other half. it would just require taking the jack out either way. i have done it both ways in different f150s.

look on ebay, i bought a box on ebay for 140 and then when you pay you just tell them if you want a box with 2 8''s or 2 10''s or 2 12''s i got one with 2 10''s and put to rockford fosgate punch 2's that i got from crutchfield, then bought a 60 dollar amp from them also, the whole setup ended up costing me $320

x2 Ebay for a box. I've got a single 10" JL Audio sub powered by an amp under the passenger seat. It provides more than enough bass for the interior space of the supercrew.

I just bought an '07 150 and am looking to upgrade the stereo w/ the usual sub and amp. My last 150 had two ten inch 1000 watt subs under the rear seat. HOwever this truck is a regular cab and i think i'm going to put one ten inch sub behind the seat in the center. I want her to shake the mirrrors off.

I've used those bazooka tubes before and they were awful. I will never use them again.

I was talking to the future shop guys and the installer showed me a webpage for MTX and they make prefab custom fit enclosures for ALL kinds of trucks. He recommends that for the air space and a better fit (that clean look) these boxes would be best. check it out.

I would also like to know if there is any differences in models between the 2006 and 2007 models. The MTX thunderform enclosures are only up to '06

Pinky, I don't think they updated the listing yet. My "buyers" catalog only shows '06 as well...

MTX is a good brand to go with but to get "just as good" of a bang for your buck there are a few others names to consider that will work well in the ReCab 150s. Such as Phoenix Gold.... I had a demo single 12" that had a nice bump.

A Kenwood...older model Sub, the newest models (I'll find model #s later) won't fit in a standard issue truck box... but they have some good bump for your buck too...

you can also look into the kicker comp VT. companies are beginning to make the subs smaller so they can fit in more places. these arent as deep and yet have the same power as the regular sized ones. the kicker rep told me when he was at sema they has those comp VT's in the doors of an FJ Cruiser and it was very nice and sounded great.
