Any body have any experience with this company? I have a 2002 F350 PSD that I want to improve. A local aftermarket dealer will provide chip, exhaust, and gauges. I have never heard of this chip company but the dealer used to specialize in Dodges with the Cummins diesel. Obviously, installing the chip is no big deal but I am a little leery about the gauges and the exhaust. Also, some general questions:
1. How come Ford doesn't use a more aggressive chip program if the engine can take it?
2.Ditto the exhaust?
3.How much is reasonable 50hp? 70? 100hp

Anybody ever heard of Bully Dog chips? My local Ford dealer sells and installs those.

PS I mostly use my truck for general transportation in New England but occaisionally will tow a light boat, a snowmobile trailer and once or twice a year will tow a dump trailer with cord wood-about 10,000 lbs. I also do non-commercial snowplowing. Any thoughts or info much appreciated.

No direct experience. They aren't a bigger player in the Ford diesel market, they seem to be better known with the Dodge guys.

You'll need to ask Ford that. My belief is that they program for ALL conditions. They have no way of knowing if you're going to tow a huge load and do it without an EGT gauge.

>2.Ditto the exhaust?

Larger exhausts cost more, are louder and you can hear the turbo whine more.

90HP+ chips are known as extreme chips. Any dealer who recommends a 100HP chip, even with an EGT and exhaust, isn't doing you a favor if you're towing 10,000 lbs. You're going to see high EGTs with 10,000lbs. If you get the gauge, use the 70hp, otherwise, stick with the 50. I rarely recommend Diablo's 90HP or 110HP chips unless the truck will never be used for towing and is a "fun" truck.

Ken, thanks for the quick response. What about plowing? Any problem with the 70 HP chip? What about a flipchip?
How hard is the gauge to install and what exhaust system do you reccommend?

from my knowledge a stock truck with a stock exhaust will get egts up to 1300+ without a load. a stoxck truck wutha k/n and a straight pipe in front of the wheels will get egts around 900-1100 empty.
a truck with strate ex and a 70 hp or a 130 chip will not see ecxessive egts under legal speeds, but with a loud the egts will climb ,
a stock ex and a chip would = bad news
