Beer cans in the 50's were (tinned) steel. (hence "tincans")
I'll bet they're a rusty mess too!

Beer wasn't pasteurized in the 50's either so it's likely the cans have exploded by now.

I wouldn't want to be on the clean-up detail.

I was hoping they would show the car the way it looks after it came out of the vault, then Boyd could fix it up and give it to the winner.

That's supposed to be handled by Floyd Codpiece and the gang from American Hellrod.

A sewer line has leaked into the vault for decades. Notice the dark brown "waterline." Boyd has open house the third Saturday of every month, so it might be at his shop by July. If I know Boyd, gas masks will be available...$20.00 for 5 minutes = no senior discount.
Boyd's shop is 10 or 30 minutes SE of here depending on traffic. I'll take my own gas mask when it goes on public display.

What a waist. A vault above ground would have been the only way.

I'm reminded of the phrase:
"It seemed like a good idea at the time".
I always thought the 57 Ply was a pretty fugly car.
Bummer about the beer.

A sealed container filled with a slight overpressure of nitrogen, helium or argon would have been a good idea also!!

Someone on HAMB with a VIP pass took a picture of a kid standing next to the hole holding a piece of leaf spring... Maybe just this once BC will extend the deadline a day or two?

Any updates? I can't get any of the streaming stuff to work and no one on HAMB has updated lately.
