Ebay headers and y-pipe and a custom tune from 5-star will do much better for much less. (Or so I've read.)
Yeah, but the more I read, the more I'm leaning toward a gear swap first. Still running the stock peg-leg 3.73s. I've been wanting to do the limited slip upgrade (not the stock one) for a while; just couldn't completely justify it, since tire chains generally solve the problem that a limited slip would, and I already own them.
That said, I've noticed that my Ex tows much more comfortably at 75 mph than it does at 60 mph, because it feels like the engine is in the right place in the power band. Taller gears would get me in that right place at lower speeds, and I can even rationalize in my brain that by being in the right place in the power band, even with taller gears, that I should see a marginal change in fuel efficiency, possibly even an improvement as someone either on here or on the V10 forum stated he'd received.
From what I can read, the 05 Y pipe is different than the one that's benefited from the swap--less restrictions.
My trailer's not huge, compared to what most of you are pulling, so I'm not looking for major power gains as much as I'm looking for better performance with some fuel efficiency improvements. If I want to wrinkle the pavement, I'll drive one of my Mustangs.
I guess my problem is that the 95 just went into storage for the winter, and the mod bug is chewing on my butt, more than just new shocks and a RAS can solve...
