weekend progress

I added 3 pix to my "building console and lower dash assembly" album that shows this weekend's progress. We finished the lower dash extension ready for paint.
Made a recess for the E brake release handle, a boxout for two AC vents above the console. Added two more flush vents near the ends, mounted headlight, ignition, wiper switch on driver's side, two 12V power outlets on pass side. There will be 4 outlets total (2 more in center console), with all the electronic gadgets needing an outlet these days you can never have too many IMHO.

That's looking really sweet. I am still a ways away from doing my own console, but you are giving me some ideas.

AX,
Awesome work as usual. I am definately getting some good ideas for when I start on interior work (hopefully soon)

Now that summer is here I havent had a chance to touch my truck is weeks. Every weekend seems to be packed full of other stuff.

Looks great Chuck, I am jealous of your fab skills! Probably have to come down again and take some more lessons!

Any time, we'd love to have you visit again!
Nothing I've done is that difficult a project. I had the lower dash panel bent at a fab shop out of 18ga.

Looks real nice Chuck. Have you picked a color for the truck/dash?

Yes, the exterior will be purple and silver. The interior metalwork will be a dark titanium grey metallic. Upholstery a light grey with deep burgundy trim and carpeting .

Yes, we have a 10 day racing road trip planned for the end of July to fingerlakes area of NY for a race then to Buffalo to visit with Family and finish at a race in Toledo OH the following weekend. I really want to tow the trailer up there for that.
I needed to get the dashboard and console area together so I can wire everything.

AX, I do believe it is going to look rather exotic when finished and all the acessories are in. I think the color scheme will work really well. I like the idea of a brushed s/s panel left blank. Nice work.

Great work, Ax, once again you created something unique without making it look out of place. That's talent.

AXracer-

What events are you running in WNY? I am a fellow autocrosser, just don't have anything to drive at the moment. If I'm in the area I might swing by to check out your tow vehicle setup!
