side cowl emblems

I'm currentyly restoring my 78 f150 ranger and its out of the paint booth and ready to put the new goodies back on. I have bought new cowl emblems but can't figure out how the hell to get them on without having to take the cowl off. definately don't want to do this because the risk of scratching the paint. any tips on how to get these things on. They are 40 bucks for each side emblem from LMC so definately want to use them

there should be holes already in the cowl for the emblems, you may have to drill new ones

It's a plastic cup that goes in the hole first. Let me know if you find the "correct" ones.

When I bought mine from JBG they came with barrel nuts. The emblems actually came from Dennis Carpenter (through JBG) -Ed

I found barrel clips that work fine at NAPA (and they're metal instead of the brittle old plastic style). They are also available in metal from Auto Krafters.

If you can find a fastener company that sells"Au-ve-co"brand fasteners have them order part#11293(375890-s102) Ford 1/8 stud size w/sealer Tubular nuts.these work like original and wont rust.If youd like i can mail you a couple to try.
