If you cross a Thunderbird with a Greywolf, what do you call it?

News, both sad and glad.

G1 is going to a new home (with even a little luck) and I'll be the owner of a late eighties to early nineties 5.0 T-BIRD!

-And there is still the 5.8 in the garage on a stand to think about....

The bird runs, has some electrical trouble. It will get me to work (AND FREAKING HOW!) so it's exactly the blessing I need right here and right now.

I just hope I live through the experience. I've been nursing top performance out of a four banger for so long, I have habits now that could easily get me wiped out in a car like that one. At least it's an automatic. If I could double-clutch it I would be buying tires every other month...

I once said I would never own a T-BIRD because parts are so high. But I know that going in the door, and realise that if I don't keep after it I'll pay for my ignorance.

I can hardly believe I'm doing this...

"Stealth Thunder"?

I really have no idea, but the seller is making positive noises, and will be in town again tomorow.

I haven't driven a 5.0 Tbird. I have driven a 97 4.6 one that runs low 12s.Its got a Allen industries supercharger on it. It hauls butt.

The seller will be here tomorrow with it, and we can kick tires, disparage conditions, and finally swallow pride and trade.

I think it will go my way.

No way.

The guy seems to think nothing of over $700 worth of tires, and wants me to fork over the cash to buy all the parts so that he can put MY truck together without paying for it himself, in return for a machine with a 4.6 - NOT a 302, bad tires, and a transmission on the way to going out.

Not only NO, but HELL NO!

I'm building my own truck back up, STUFF these people...

The 4.6 is a good motor. I'd rather have it over a 5.0in a thunderbird but not in a pos one like your guy has to trade. You did the right thing & kept a truck you know.

I'll be running that truck to Olive Branch long after that dope has loaded up his sorry rust bucket with 2 lugs per wheel, and the gas tank ripped out to haul it off to Gates Metal Salvage!
