When I bought the truck the steering wheel wasn't centered so I told them and they said it was "within specs". Had I rotated tires I would have 4 bad tires instead of 2. I usually rotate them at 10k miles. Oh well I'll let you guys know what happens at the dealer.

with a good quality tire, 20k miles is nothing. rotating them then will just even out the wear...a crappy tire does need rotating more often. everyone complains about the Goodyear OEMs, but mine are just fine. like I said, I've got 14,000 and they still look pretty much brand new. they are just starting to show signs of wear.

if you rotate every 5k, then at 20k, the tires that started up front will be back up front...they'll spend 10k up front and 10k out back...so if you're doing it yourself, just leave 'em on front for 20k (~1/2 of their life) and then just rotate 1 time. btw, if you do lots of burnouts and you like the tires, this will save you money as you only have to buy 2 instead of 4...that saves me lots on my Mustang...it eats tires

Never got less than 70,000 miles out of stock tires on my F-150's All were/are 4x4s with supercabs. Check air pressure every couple of weeks and rotate every 6 to 8 thousand miles. This is on 7 different F-150s.

Well got 31K on the BF Goodrich 18" Radial Long trails, worn evenely across, just went to Goodyear Silent Armor. Hope to get more. So far these tires are pretty impressive. I liked the BF Goodrich's quitness and great in those downpours. Never like GY Wranglers since I almost lost an Expedition due to hydroplaning. But these seem to be a far cry above the older Wranglers I had an issue with.

My 06 has 13k on it, and it has done this since about 5k on it. Dealer told me that I should have rotated my tires @ 3k miles. I then asked him why the book says 5k? (he didn't have an answer then). I have the Generals. My passenger side front, "cups" on the outside of the tread pattern. I beleive my alignment must be off, but I'm not paying for one, the lease is up in 6 mos.

2007 with 2k and have irregular tire wear

This is my first ford. A 2007 screw and I have the bj goodrich 265/60/18 and only have 2k miles on them and have irregular tire waer and feathering on the outside. I have them at 35-36 psi. Would the dealer fix any possible problem in the front end?

Pepito, Just my advice, I would bring it to them and have an alignment done. It is covered for the first year or 12k of ownership

I had the same problem on my 05 screw with 17K and after rotating the tires, I got an alignment done. I bought a LIFETIME ALLIGNMENT at Firestone for $119. On my old truck, I filled up the warranty book with all the front end work I had done. Very good investment if you do your own front end work, worth every penny!

Pepito,

Bring it in for an Alignment! 95F150 is right - You are covered for 1yr/12,000 on alignments. I brought my '06 in at 4500 (should have at 4000 but was busy) and it was aligned. I had to bring it in again at 7500 miles to have it aligned to a different area of the spec. This time the made it almost dead true. Problem fixed! I have 17,500 on the truck now and tires are wearing just fine. I do rotate them every 5,000 as recommended by ford.
