Worthless cupholders

A few weeks ago I bought a 2000 f250 crew cab. I love everything about this truck except the cupholders. Both the indash and the backseat cupholders are worthless. Go around a corner and the cup flyes out. Has anyone made mods to the cupholders? Can they be easily changed out withones from a newer model. The truck has bucket seats with a large center console. Do the newer ones have cupholder in the console? During the summer the cup holders are always being used so I need to fix this problem.

Thanks

Budman

You can upgrade to the later model holders that go into the dash. I have done a few of those myself.

Thanks for the great info. What about the back seat cupholders that attaches to the seat. are they better in the newer years?

I never looked at the back ones to see if they made changes.

On my truck the rear cup holders are in the armrest. They seem to stay.I'm not sure what year they started doing that.
My front cup holders seem fine to me.I never had a cup fall out.

I too changed my front cup-launcher to the 01+ cup-holder, which works great.

As for the rear one that drops onto the little studs on the center of the seat, I just leave it off. Don't know of any better options for the rears for us with older trucks w/out the built-in ones in the rear.

Or the ones in my 94 Chevy G30 cargo van. That truck has a permanent gas station capucino smell.

Not to boast about German cars or let alone promote any, but cup holders are the last thing considered. Cars were made for driving and not a coffee house on wheels.
My first truck had cupholders on the glovebox door(the 1/16 of an inch depressions).
I am guilty of drinking while driving, and I have an 02 F150 with the pop out mini cup holder and ashtray/piggy bank deal in the dash. Not much of a cupholder, but I like the rest of the truck more than the cup holder.
Sorry for my point of view, but our trucks were made for driving.
Too many incidents occur when drivers are distracted. Non of us here maybe included in this, but the German engineers are on the right track with their "driving first" attitude. I wonder if John Force has cupholders in his Pony funny car?
I guess I am on an endless quest to make my trucks drive better (oh while balancing a slurpee between my legs) .

I got tired of trying to catch my drink while cornering also. I was waisting time out in my shop one day when I decided to build a functional cupholder for the front. 2 hours later and one trip to Wally World and I have not only a secondary set of cupholders up front but an addition to my center console to hold more stuff.
