2001 F150 V6 4x2 Manual/Clutch Problem
The clutch pedal has a lot of free play in it after driving several miles.
When I leave for work in the morning, it seems OK ... but by the the time I get to work (10mi or so), the pedal has to be within 2 or 3in of the lowest position before I feel anything happening.
The vehicle has only 14k on it. Bought it used with 8k. I've only taken it to one dealer (so far) who said there was no problem ... however, they only drove it 8 miles as a test drive. Fearing I made a mistake, I didn't press the issue but now I absolutely certain there's a problem.
I live in north Texas ... it's early-Sep: low-temp around 75F/hi-temp around 95F.
Any ideas?

It may be the clutch master or slave cylinder. Check the fluid level. You may need to bleed the system. If it does not correct the problem, the more likely culprit is the slave cylinder.
I have the same setup and I pull a travel trailer and a boat. I know it has a weak clutch. Perhaps someone can advise if a f250 light duty clutch will adapt or if an aftermarket clutch is available.
