Question Battery Holder Assistance

Hey folks, I need help. I have put a 351W in my "50 F-1 and need to find a battery holder. My plan is to mount it to the passenger side firewall. Any suggestions on a donor vehicle?

Have you tried the stock V8 50 truck battery holder that mounts to the frame rail on the passengers side? That sure is the easiest way. PM me if you don't have one and need one.

I made my own out of 1/8 x 1 inch angle iron and mounted it to the passenger side firewall. It's not hard. The angle iron will outlast any donor vehicle battery box and you can custom make it the exact size for the battery you are using so as to take up as little space as possible.

Thanks all. 49Willard - I thought of that but the 351 takes up some space and do not think it will fit. The one on my truck was in bad shape at the tray area so I canned the whole thing. Should have kept it because they are very expensive. Too bad I am new at this!!!!

I think willards right. The battery hold down should work on the passenger side. I think jimhackney's is that way.

Exactly what I just did as well..... I placed it between the rad support and the inner fender at an angle. Works great but still not too sure if I like it there or not. Will most likely move it to the stock location under the cab this winter.

Battery holder

I am using the original legs from my 50 battery holder, will fabricate tray to fit. I have 302 mounted and should have room at the stock position.
