275/65 r20

Any of you King Ranch owners or anyone running a 275/65/20 wheel found a decent replacement tire? I'm currently running the Goodyear Wrangler ATS but would like to upgrade to a tire with a little bit more all terrain pattern. Also I'm somewhat disappointed with wet traction. I've been unable to find a tire available except the Goodyear.

You could always step up to the BFG AT TA KO's in 285 65 20 E. The are only slightly bigger and fit my truck with ZERO rubbing.
I doubt you would ever complain about traction again.....

Start looking at other size tires like Doorkicker said. You can fit 35x12.5R20s stock. You might have minor rubbing on the plastic wheel liner, or trailing arms, but it is pretty easy to fix. Anything smaller than that and you shouldn't have any problems. I personally am running the 35x12.5R20 Toyo Open country M/Ts and love them.

That's what everyone around here says. Only on 2005 up with the coil springs though. The stock 20" rims come with a 34.1"x11" tire.

i think my '07 oem 18" wheels are 8" wide.

beerstalker, are you running 20" oem's and are they still 8" wide?

toyo recommends a 8.5-10.0-11.0 rim width for 35x12.5R20 (10.0 best fit)

strange that toyo seems to recommend wider rim widths than the other tire makers.

Thanks! Any experience with this tire? Road noise, tread life, moderate off road use etc? Where did you find them?

Yeah I'm still running the factory 8" wide 20's. The Toyo's fit fine. You can usually go about 0.5" less than what the manufacturer recommends without any issues, but any more than that and I would be worried.

I just did a Google search on the tire size to come up with those, I don't have any experience with them and can't recommend them one way or another.

If I had the 20 inch wheels I would follow Doorkicker's advice and go with the BFG AT KO 285 65 20 E tire. I have yet to hear anything bad about those.

If I had a 2.5" leveling kit on an 09 f-250, with 20x10 rims, what would be the best width of a 35 or 36 in tire?

I switched over to the Michelin LTX AT2 about 3 months ago. They seem too good to be true. Excellant ride/noise with no wet weather traction issues. Off road traction is pretty good as well. They are not "mudders" however. Although quite pricey, I am well pleased with the overall performance

X2... I have them on my 2005 F350 and can say that the Michelin LTX AT2's are excellent tires!

35X12.5 R20 E

Now I don't know all the who's what's wheres and such...

But putting tires on the OEM wheels that have more than about a 30" diam, may well cause ya problems in the rubbing area.... I am no expert by any means so i sure as heck could be wrong ( probly am).... I just put me a 5" lift on and the largest tire i could squeeze in was a 36X12.5 but squeezing isn't the way i want to go so i backed off a lil and went with the 35X12.5 R 20 just for the sake of not having any problems.... I my self am very interested in this topic and wish a real Rubber PRO would run off at the yapper and fill us in...

IM runnin a King Ranch 250 4 door, 4X4 with the 6.4D and have the 20 inch wheel upgrade.... and holy mudder of all mud toys, its gonna be the last pickumup i think i'll ever own cause i like it so much... just wish they had an option for keepin the women folk out of the cab (unless its the English pointer biotch of course)... guess I'll have to keep the Hank Williams Sr. cranked up to about volume 9.5 and see how that works.... Ford really does build a better truck... man step an all, and if anyone has a comment about the man step, come on down to gimpville and give it straight to ole grandpa on a toe to toe basis and i'll make sure they understand how vital it can be to the young folk and an ole geezer... lol

Thanks for the op to spout....

My '07 came stock with 31.5 inch tires (26570R17E) and I think that was the smallest tire you could get that year an an SRW truck. I am probably going to step up to a 28570R17E on the stock rims, that is just a touch under 33 inches. Clearance won't be an issue.
