marine/rv battery

I have a question about deep Ceil battery. My battery is on it's last year and I want to get a one. The last one was a Die Hard RV 29 series.
I have done some inquiring, and so far found that a rv/marine batt are not a true DEEP CEIL battery
I didn't state that this is for my rv sorry about that. What a lot of rvers are doing is putting two 6 volt golf cart batteries together to get more amps then one 12
My battery box is only big enough for one large one, so I can't do this.
On some forms they are saying if I could find a true deep ceil I would be better off. But they are hard to fine. Most Battery companys state "RV/MARINE DEEP CEIL"
The other thing is discharging the Battery
Some say a battery has a memory and should be discharged 75%. Other say never, never discharge below 50% or it will go bad.

I know that this is not a rv form,But I have always got the help I've need on my 77 ford 250 here,So though I would ask.
Thanks Don

You are getting good info. Try not to discharge any battery below 50%, and it will last a lot longer. A true deep cycle will hold up to this abuse a lot better than a rv/marine battery. One of the best batteries on the market is Trojan. You could go to their site and see what selection of 12 volt batteries they have. I have heard the cheapest place to get deep cycle batteries is Sam's club.

Do some measuring, maybe you can modify the battery box to accept two 6 volt batteries.
