hey guys, im gonna post this in a few other places to try to get alot of angles, but i wanted to see if any of you guys have ever heard of it. truck is a 1997 f350 old bodystyle with a 351w. its an autp tranny, i believe it is an E4OD (4 gears + OD, right?) anyway:

i went mudding today in some really watery stuff cause we got alot of rain where im at, and driving home, i noticed the tranny isnt shifting out of 2nd gear. it goes through 1st, into 2nd fine, but after that, it just stays in 2nd. i dont think i blew 3rd because it never even hits third when im mudding. im thinking i just got some of the stupid electronics wet and they need to dry. can anyone give me some leads for troubleshooting? id really appreciate it. thanks!

 

Pull the connections apart, clean them up with some contact cleaner available at the local electronics store. Check for corrosion and remove it. Re-grease them with silicone dielectric grease then put them back together.

 

No, it's 4 gears INCLUDING overdrive.

1st - 2.47:1
2nd - 1.54:1
3rd - 1:1
4th - 0.71:1
Plus the torque converter locks.
