Can any FE powered car or truck show up?
Even if it did not come with a FE in the fist place?

Ron I think it's pretty open to whatever. I don't have a truck but plan on bringing a car myself. Are you going to bring the Tbolt clone?

How about a Pinto running a 428CJ? Years ago there was one running around here. Narrowed 9" with big azz tires and running a tunnelram with someones big ol mailbox riveted to the hood. It was pretty quick!! I bet the car rusted away leaving only the drivetrain in the driveway tho. Have not see it in years.

Back when I raced the altered....A guy showed up at the track {OCIR} and had a 72 Honda 700 coupe with a Blown 460 Chebby in it....we all had to watch this thing run.. well it made it about to the 100ft mark and almost tipped over...It was so damn funny..the slicks were almost touching sidewall to side wall..LMAO..as I recall the run in my head..its still as funny as it was..

I think anything should be welcomed, as long as it says Ford on it. First guy to pull in with a Ford under-powered by a bowtie gets bitch slapped by everyone there.

Hey guys;
My offer stands as does that of the scoot. It ain't much but it does begin to offset expenses a little. Getting a price package to look at is a great start. We can begin to do some comparisons as well as having some solid ideas for outright costs.
We can also begin to look at other ideas to offset costs.
example, someone mentioned an entry fee, also a gate fee to get in. Both are to be expected and as long as they are reasonable people will not mind.
I have a guy who makes t shirts and caps for my shooting range. He is very reasonable and I could ask him to do some for us to sell. I am sure there are some people smarter than me who could come up with good ideas for the shirts and caps that would be about our event and that would create some memorabilia.
Anyway, I'm in.

Het Highboy, where are you in SW Iowa?
I was born in that area and have a lot of famoly down there still. Our original family farm is in Moravia.
Keep this thing alive as I still think it is a super way for us to be able to put faces with names and for everyone to see the iron in person.

Well UF, we all appreciate the off both you and Scoot made, this is still in the infant stage , so were plugging along at it... I should be getting that perspective on KCIR sometime this week....and will have some hard numbers to look at and weigh agianst..

And Redmanbob is a grahpics designer by trade...and he's I believe is working on some sort of pics for the crew here that will possibly go on Flyers,Banners, T-Shirts and cap etc..

But once I have some hard numbers to work with ...I can start dealing with other tracks also, and have a good point of referance..and be able to start throwing Real Numbers out there for the one's who are interested in the program..

And I too would love to meet you guys in person. There seems to be a lot of great people behind this screen.

About 175 miles straight east of you. Right by Rathbun lake.

I really hope we can get this thing off the ground. I'd like to meet everybody.

Highboy, Russ, Scoot, Strokster. All you guys along with me and so many others have met to the degree that you have so far on the forum or at tracks or the puter etc.
There seems to me to be a genuine interest in many of you to actually make something like the east v west thing happen for a multitude of reasons.
Most importantly seems to be the forging of friendships and getting to meet one another in the flesh ( along with comparing peepees , your works of art)..
I have helped to plan a few things such as this in my lifetime and it is not easy but then nothing worthwhile rarely is. But I truly believe it will be worth every minute and whatever headaches it will take to make it come about.
I would think for you younger guys even more so than for us old farts. THAT is why I am willing to help to make it happen, cause it WILL be worth it and the friendships, memories, etc you take away from it will be with you forever.
An example if I may and then I will shut up about it.
I was fortunate enough to have five scooters that I had built in some fashion entered in the first ever " Artistry In Iron" show in the lower level of the L.A. Colleseum in 1980. Willy G did this as soon as he bought out the bowling pin Harleys.
It was brilliant. But my point is I was there and involved first hand in it. They made 500 belt buckles, special for this event with the logo for "artistry in iron", then broke the mould. Everyone who had an entry got a buckle. They were selling after the show for over $300. I have mine in my safe. I get it out once in a while and look at it or show it to special friends and it always brings out a story or two having to do with the show and being there and doing that.
You can't take it away from me and there isn't enough money in the world to buy my hunk of junk buckle or a single story or memory. And I lived the stories that go with it.
If you guys and your lovely ladies who support you can build the masterpieces the way you do, making this happen is a slam dunk if you want it too. And I can tell you already just from the comments and interrest so far that a lot of people want it to and will help to do so.
It is a hell of a great idea and you guys are worth it, so geter done.
Nuff said by Uf but thanks for letting me enter my two cents for whatever they are worth.
