Personally, I think we'd have a better turn out if all FE Powered vehicles were included. I have attached a PDF file for the flyer I was talking about in Tulsa. Check it out.
I don't know if you guys saw the post in the other thread, but UncleFudd has offered $500 to get the ball rolling if it turns out to be a real event. I think he intends for the money to go toward reserving a track somewhere, so we can all start planning our trip.
My company will match that money. So now we have $1000 to work with.
Personally, I think 2009 is too far away. I think it should be within a year.
Also, to be fair, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri look like the center of the country to me.
Also, I don't know if we should be incredibly exclusive with our event. Certainly this is born of the FE section of the forum, but would we exclude the guys from the other sections of the forum just because they have a 460? Or would we exclude the guys that wanted to bring a car powered by an FE like Larry?
Maybe we should just consider this to be the Ford-Trucks.com East v. West event?
I don't know. There is also the thought that it would be more fun if it were just a few guys swappin' stories and renting beer. In that case just FE's?

Well Brian I thank you and UncleFudd for the offer's.... The reason why I put it so far out..is so some of the guys like myself and Glenn, and Redmanbob and a few others will have time to at least get there motor's together...and in the chassis..
As you well know ..how many set backs I have had over the years and have had to sell out.. to keep the house hold going...But thats my problem..LOL..But know I have to much invested to turn back..(thats a good thing) the wife hates it..but she'll get over it !! LOL..I have been without before and will do so again I'am sure!
And as I had mentioned..somewhere? the Brain aint right..trying to get over Pee-moan-ya.... again..
That ALL FE Powered Vehicles would be welcome... Now I know alot of the 460 racer's..and they just had there first annual BBF Bash at the same track I was talking about..Windy Hollow Dragway...and they have there's in the spring also.. And that would still make it an all ford showing...
And it would make it cheaper on us..IF we could ride on there heals at the track? But I would need to talk to Phillip Oakley , and Lem and Charlie Evans and Damon Sea...to find out how many attended this year..and what the time lag was in between rounds...
And I myself would like to have it sooner too...But the Money just wont allow the build any quicker than spring of 09 barring (no Build problems) I have a set budget..and I cant push any more than I make..
And I have spoke too a few guys in the deep south, that attended the BBF bash, that wouldnt mind attending a show if we pull this one off... I think even for me Owenboro is a 12 to 14 hr drive..because where I live, there is no Flyway close..and I have to drive an 1 hr north just to go south..LOL..
But Hey ..If you guys want to put something together sooner than 09..closer to the central aprt of the country..By all meens....I'll make it..for the Burgers and the Bench racing..just not with the truck....So dont let me hold you guys up...I'll just make it the year after..LOL.. Not a problem..

With a Secret BBF/TBA sometime??
Well Scoot I know your smarter than that!! Back when I ran A/EA I had more note books in the Camper than carter had liver pills.. I kept docs..on every set-up and temp and air Density for every track I ran at ..Just to give me a baseline when I returned..
Of Course now we have Puter's that do it all.. LOL.. well with the exception of the wrenching?? But if you run the new CPU's and Injection..they'll even do that for you..What a world!
Rj--- Off to the bank...

Hot Damn my build is getting cheaper and cheaper LOL
Yeah this poor MOFO has to wait too.. wish it wernt so.. Dodge is paid off in Aug 07 so then I'll hunt down a JY FE and start the planning/building hopefully get a 4sp with it for dirt cheap.. get it all together and find the cheapest POS I can to toss it in and start gutting. 09 for sure.. However I'll gladly get some graphics together before 08 for you all, then if you need it it's done.. Thanks for the info on the concepts/names.. I think we will keep it FE themed and if others are invited hey it's a BOB party
Hey Russ, just go to www.midamericafordmeet.com and you can probably find it there. There are some good pictures of the event from years past.
And Scouder, anyone that can build a motor like you did can surely figure out how to make one run at 625' above sea level. That's the Tulsa track, not sure about Ky.
I posted on another thread but here it is for everyone to check out!!
I think the E/W thing sounds like a great time!! I have something for you to check out. I live in SW Iowa about as central US as you can get. Now the track we have here is 1/8, but they are talking about making it 1/4. Maybe by the time you can get everyone rounded up it will be a 1/4. This is a great track, every friday they race "run whacha brung". The cool thing about this place is they also have a 200' mud pit for mud drags!! While you cant run in the mud then on the track, you can play on the track get dialed in and the the guys/gals who like playing in the mud can tear it up. Maybe over a weekend we could Friday-Saturday drags on asphalt and Sunday mud drags!! And they have camping right there.
If you guys are interested I can talk to the track manager (Roadkill).
This track is owned by a dealership, Ford, Dodge & chevy. Maybe they can help out. I know a manager there as well.
Maybe if we could get a concept flyer or something to show. It may help to show we are serious. As well as what was in mind.
Well being fair to everyone..I did some more checking...and we might be able to get into KCIR a 1/4 mile track? Kansas City International Raceway.... Its about as central as central can get...
But sorry Highboy...NO mud pit... Of course we can always hire you a fire truck and wet down a field for you... I dont think there are any guys "that I know of" that are pit racers? I really dont think the guys that have 12 to 15 to 25K in there FE motors alone..want to run them in the Mud? IF they want too ..Please speak up and let me know!!! So far you are the only one...
And as in all ..Majority rules....thats just how it is.. I would have liked to have gone to Windy Hollow..but its another 500 miles out of the way and only a 1/8 mile track.. But it does have a river to play in!! LOL..
