CD stuck in the in-dash changer

Got an '03 Superduty and one of the kids stuffed a CD in the changer and now it is AFU. The disc did not load properly. Now it won't eject or load or anything. I hear it trying to load but it it malfunctioning.
Is this something that I need a tech for or it it easy enough to remove the head unit and retrieve the disc?

How do you get the head unit out of the dash?
Anybody?

Thanks.

remove radio from dash
open it up on a table or work bench
I had to do it a few times, ended up storing it in my garage.
I bought an Alpine HU and CD changer combo
I may be selling it to upgrade to a DVD/NAV system
interested????

You can buy the removal tool at most walmarts or auto parts places. They go in the 4 holes at the side of the radio and you pry them apart and pull the radio out. Some people have made their own using wire hangers or nails, but the tools are only a couple bucks and I have found they work better.

Wait b4 you do that... try this, When/if the cd slot opens use a tooth pick or somthing and push the cd in farther. My dads SD does that and thats what he has to do. Its kinda like it cant pull the cd in far enough or somthing..idk but try that if the slot will open.

My FIRST mistake was to push the disc in instead of grabbing it when I had the chance to pull it out.
Thanks Beerstalker, I'll pick up the tool and see if I can figure this out.

The CD player in my 08 F150 wouldn't eject the CD. I tried inserting a second CD, which it also ate. I got them both out by partially inserting (about a third of the way) a third CD and gently prying down while pressing the eject button. Hope this helps.

Best/easiest way is to lift the ground lead off the battery.... turn on the headlight switch to bleed residual voltage and reconnect. Hit eject and it SHOULD come out.
