'66 Custom Cab door panel clips

One of the many resto items I need to do is replace window and door cranks as the previous owner stripped them I've pulled the padded CC door panels off and most of the clips that hold the panel to the metal door are either missing or broken. I haven't seen any reproduction clips and even asked a local upholstery shop and he didn't have anything that would work.

Does anybody know if anybody is reproducing them? Does any body have a parts truck/door panels that have the clips they can send me (please!)?

Thanks,
daggerNC

What clips are you refering to? These trucks didn't have upholstered padded door panels. What they had (on Custom Cabs only) was a hard plastic panel surrounded by a chrome molding which is in several pieces when removed. The handles and armrest are in this location. The only clips that are there.....are what holds the chrome moldings on...that's it. The moldings screw on, except for the curved pieces which use ONE clip each.

These panels are only on the upper 1/3 part of the door. The rest of the door is painted metal. There's a removable painted metal panel in the middle that gives access to the window regulator, etc. There was an accessory zippered vinyl panel surrounded by a one piece plastic moulding that could be installed in place of the metal panel. Seems to me that someone made up something on your truck...or you have a 1967 or later model..

Dagger,
P-Cars use the same clips and last time I knew "DC" had 'em in his "Hornets Nest" operation in the Queen City there in the tar heel near ya'. 40s thru 59s forsure.

Bill - my doors on this '66 CC are as you described except my 1/3 door plastic panels were covered in white vinyl from the previous owner. Mine have the factory correct chrome moldings, but what holds the whole panel is multiple clips that look like praying hands (greenish color, flat spring metal - not round steel like '65 Mustang Pony Interior door clips) into what appears as factory holes (9 of them) in the door. I believe there is one interior sheet metal screw on the top left corner as well.

Hey Pete! I'll give Dennis Carpenter a call - thanks. I can post a pic if this would help?

Yes, you are right. Duh... ..I guess I had better look closer at mine. Here's the Ford part number for the clips:

378586-S32

I sent you a p/m..found 9 of them at an obsolete Ford sellers site.
