F 700? Umm, doubt many here know about the 700 line of HD trucks, but I'd say it's hydraulic. Have you checked the fluid level? If it's hydraulic, that is a self adjusting clutch and the only way it would be out of spec at the pedal would be a low fluid level, fluid leak, or a worn out clutch.

That is my uneducated guess, so hope this helps!

Sorry, bro. I don't know anything about F-700's.

I figured a truck with a clutch as big as those medium dutie's have, that it would take a hydaulic clutch. That pressure plate has got to have super strong clamping pressure to hold the TQ of the motor and the thousands of pounds of load those things have to pull.

Example:

I have a Valeo 10.5" HD clutch kit in my Mustang GT that has nothing but the cable and it feels like a leg press at the gym. The hydraulic 11" HD clutch in my 87 F250 feels like a knife in butter compared to my Mustang.

i have a 1990 f-700 and the clutch is completely mechanical. There is a short rod connected to the clutch fork at the tranny. Loosen the jamb nut and the second nut will adjust the bushing inward or outward depending on your needs.
