fender flares

who has them? what brand? pictures.....

Ok.. I am thinking of putting fender flares on my 96 CCSB. The bed I have now is junk inside and out.... I just picked up a 95 lightning bed that is near perfect.. I has the typical rust hole over the fender... other than that it is even the right color.. I would like the fix the rust but I dont really want to paint the bed because then it wont match the rest of the truck.. I was looking at the Warn and Bushwacker pocket and/or cutout flares.. just wondering if I was to cut and prep the rusted area if either of these flares would cover up the effected area.. I know it depends on how much I cut out but I cant find dimensions on the flares other than how far they stick out..

Thanks.
Pat

Mine had the same rust problem. I tore off the chrome trim and filled the rust holes with some fiberglass filler/bondo and smoothed them out a little. I then used some im not sure what its called some kind of reddish color rust preventer, its paint on. I painted all the bondo and a good layer all down the edge, inside and out to prevent further rust. then used Bushwacker street flares from summit racing. Look at my gallery. made the truck look nice.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Can anyone tell me how far up the fender the flares would cover? I would only need an inch or two to cover the rust areas but wasn't sure it that was too much.

look at jboard's gallery it may help. They look to be about 1.5". You may even consider sending him a PM and asking him directly how big they are.

I have been to hatfield mccoys. We rode 40 miles from the rockhouse trail head to get to gilbert to get fuel. 40 miles back to the trail head in one day. I have done it twice and want to go again your states scenery is sweeeeet. Stoping on the top of the mountains is a must to take pictures. Sorry about the hijacking!

OK.. back to the subject.. in the June 2007 issue of Dieselpower, the cummins powered F350.. are those the extend-a-fender or cut-outs... the flares on that truck are the ones that I want...

Thanks
