I am looking for the stock size of the rod journals for stock rod bearings for a 1950 226 Flathead Ford 6. Can anyone help out. I took the bearings off the 226 that I bought and I think I should replace them before I put it back together. IT has Civite 77 bearings on them with no markings. I know I can order old new stock standard , 10 0r 20 but I do not know how to tell if rod journals were turned before. If I have a stock rod journal size I will get a mic and measure them . Rod journals are 2.2980" to 2.2988"
Main journals is 2.8732" to 2.8740"

Crank end of the conn rod is 2.4235"

 

[I want to thank you for listing the size of stock rod journals for the 226 . I measured them to day and took the measurement to Auto Zone and measured them with a didital read out and it is excactly 2.298 . So these rod journals were never turned. and I can order stock size bearings for it. Your a winner who ever you are. RatRoDave

I'm just a flathead guy and I have a shop manual that shows a wealth of info on these trucks and engines. Don't know what I'd do without it. Happy to share it with another flathead guy - even 6'ers. LOL
