I have a 8.8 from a '89 F150, the tag reads, S806D, 08 88 0F28. I can't find any info to decode this tag.

My first post and a google search led me here. Axle codes have been driving me nuts.

I'm looking for my 99 F350 4x4.

The rear axle metal tag reads: L 73 10 5 8C09

I'm guessing it's Limited Slip 3.73 10.5" and cant even guess the 8c09. There's also a blue paper band on the right tube that says 141B

On the front there's a big paper tag that says F 81A-3002-CJ I didnt see a metal tag but that doesnt mean it isnt there.

What has me really wondering about this is when the truck is placed in 4x4 It seems that the rear end locks up. I get hard tire scrub in a tight turn on the rear end when it's in 4x4 on the inside wheel, even if I do not lock the front hubs. It does not do that unless I pull the lever to put it in 4x4 and frankly it has me scratching my head.

hey, i have an front axle that i pulled off a truck i bought for parts not too long ago. its a dana 44 off a 3/4 ton i believe (8 lugs and it had leaf springs).

i found the Bill of Materials number. the number is 610040-4.

I tried to look it up on dana's site but it was not on there. Can anyone tell me exactly what this axle is?

will this tell me what the gearing is? open diff. or limited slip? thanks guys, i appreciate it.

trying to find new ring and pinion gear set for my dana 44 front end and searching for the parts i have found ring gear tooth counts fron 39-44 and pinion gear counts from 8-9 and spline counts bolt counts that are all over the place...i need to order the right gears so can anyone tell me if im missing something from my tag

3.50 D4TA TB
603472 9

i gather thats a 74-75 axle from a f100 or f 150 with part time 4x4...also 3.50 open carrier...but is there anything else i can get from this that might help get me the correct R&P gears

I need held figuring out my axles, the front one all i could find was ZLO on the bottom of it. And the rear still had the tag but is not in very good shape, it might not be correct but this is what i traced off of it on to paper..WDM-BZ 8BD (under that is) 3 50 9 390B. Like i said it is really hard to read because of shape its in.

Could you help me with my axle tag?

The top line reads WDM-J second line reads 3.50 7AC 311, would these numbers and letters tell the year and gear ratio? Thanks

Welcome to FTE. Feel free to open a new thread for your questions.

WDM-BZ tell us '73-'78 F100, '75-'79 F150, 3.50 ratio, open diff, 31 spline axles. The second line also tell us 3.50 open diff. (3L50 would be 3.50 limited slip)

Not sure on the front axle. Is it a Dana axle, perhaps a Dana 44? Click on "Identify Diff's"

Welcome, ditto on starting a new thread. People here will not yell at you and tell you to use the search function like they do at the Toyota sites...

WDM-J says '63-'72 Ford F100, 3.50 ratio, open diff, 28 spline axles. Again the second line says 3.50 ratio, with no "L" indicating an open diff.

Welcome to FTE!

From the same decoder ring, cut and pasted for my convenience:

WDM-HFord Pickup '63-'72 F-1003.259 inNL28

3.25:1 ratio, 9" ring gear, non-limited slip, 28 spline axles is a further decode of the decode.
