Height of Cobra roller rocker pedestal

Hi, does anyone have a set of new Ford F3ZE / Crane Cams roller rocker arms? The reason I ask is because I just bought a used set from ebay (seller claimed they were new) which include two different height pedestals.
Some pedestals are about .545 high, the others are .505 high (four are cracked as well). This measurement is from the bottom of the pedestal to lowest part of the arc on the top of the pedestal.
Thanks much.

They should all be the same height. Sounds like you got screwed on those. Time for you to come down on the seller hard, they're obviously not new.

Yep they definitely should be the same height! The seller certainly was fraudulent, but I had a friend buy them on ebay and I am in Canada while the seller is in the US, so it's not practical to chase after him. I'll try to buy or make more pedestals, but I need to know the correct height first. I'm a machinist but it's still going to be a big pain (like many hours of work) to make replacements.
I hear a lot of this kind of shenanigan goes on on ebay.

There is recourse through ebay. 1.Leave bad feedback.2. If he used paypal, he can get his money back.3. Ebay has a way to deal with fraudulent sales. It's all explained on their website. Actually, that kind of thing isn't that common. Did you check his feedback rating before buying? I've done a lot of business there, and never buy anything from anyone with less than a 99% positive feedback rating. Never had a problem. There are legit speed shops on there with phone #'s, and i bet if you found one that sells the same product, and explained to them what happened, they would be more than happy to give you correct pedestal heights, or make you a deal on what you need. Sorry to hear what happened, though.

Crane cams can tell you what the dimensions for the pedestals are. They made em.

Thanks for all the advice. The ebay world is new to me. This is the first time I bought anything through it. I'll call up Crane if no one has the pedestals handy and posts the correct height.

I contacted Crane and the technical advisor gave the specification as .539"-.545".

Another thing to double check when buying used parts.

Wow. A .060 tolerance for the pedestal sounds sloppy to me. I'd check the preload with them and see which had the correct preload for the pedestal height before making any.

Double check those numbers, it's actually only .006" tolerance.

I wrote a longer reply about the tolerance but the stinkin' computer lost it when I tried to post it. Basically I was postulating the effect of "tolerance stacking" if all the various components were favouring one side of their tolerance. Think how many items are involved in getting the valve train geometry right. There's the pedestal height, valve length, rocker arm geometry, valve seat height (or depth), pedestal base to cylinder head gasket surface distance, block deck height, push rod length, cam location relative to deck height and probably a couple more.
If all of these were on the far limit of tolerance favouring one extreme, then things could be decidedly out of whack.
