Fumoto valve

Fumoto Valve is probably the same
Sir:
I discovered yesterday that the oil sump drain on the 2008 6.4 is the same thread as the oil sump drain on my 1997 7.3 psd so.... if the same drain plug fits the 6.0 as the 7.3 ( as I have been told ) then the Fumoto model #F111 should fit the 6.4. I ordered one last night.
I had several new copper (bronze ?) drain plug crush rings in a little bag in the 97's glove compartment - even more fortunately that plastic bag was from the Fumoto F111 I installed in the 1997 7.3 in 2000.
The OE Sump Drain Plug on the 6.4 has a (very) magnetic extension which had virtually no metal particles stuck to it. Manufacturing seems to have improved - the four magnetic drain plugs I've seen since 1995 all had substantial metal shavings stuck to them on the first oil change - two Powerstrokes and two Cummins..
The threads on the drain plug are 20 tpi and the OD measures 13.65
mm +-, I think that means it is a 14 mm X 20 tpi thread.
Best of luck with your new truck.
