Question Extended maintenance plan???

Does anybody have a feel for Fords extended maint. plan? They quoted me 2100.00 for 5 years 60,000 miles for all maint. This includes oil changes @ 5000 miles. It covers all wear items with NO deductible.

I don't think the Ford ESP includes the maintenance items your dealer included. (oil, brakes, etc)

Well lets look at the numbers:

12 x $55 = $660 oil & filter change

4 x $38 = $152 Fuel filter change

2 x $175 = $350 Trans flush & filter change

Total cost $1162.00

This is with you doing the work yourself. If you do your own oil & fuel filter changes but let the dealer do the transmission flush add $150. At the most you might need front break pads depending on your driving style, you change front break pads yourself for less than $100.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone, and since I will not be able to do the maintenance myself, it may be an ok deal?

I would say yes...

Dealership services can be $$$
The only way you can beat that price - is to go to a Jiffy lube or the like - where they will put in cheap oil, use cheap filters. Honestly I wouldn't let them near my truck with a 40ft pole.

Agreed, about 10 years ago, one of the high school kids that work at those places forgot to put the oil plug back in my friend's car. He didn't even make it out of the parking lot before the car died. They put the plug back in and refilled it with oil and told him "don't worry, your car didn't suffer any damage from running that short of a time with no oil."

Thanks everyone, I ordered the warranty thru greenfield ford in ma, Troy was a great guy to work with, I ended up going with the 6 years, 75,000 mile maint. warranty, it was a little over $2,000.00. I think it will save me some money down the road, and at least I know Ford will stand behind the work!!!

Did you purchase and extend "Drive Train" warranty or a routine "Maintenance Plan"?

Okay, when you said warranty in your previous post it caused the question to arise in my mind.
