I am a Tatictal Aircraft Maintance Journeyman in the U.S. Airforce. Which means I am an Aircraft mechnic on fighters. I am currently working on the U-2.
The Sikorsky plant close to where I live is where they build the airframes for the MH-60R (Romeo- U.S. Navy) and the S-70B (everybody else's navy).
Not really mechanic work, just production but I'm in school to get my A&P also and they pay for it so it's actually a really good job.

In the summer I am a fulltime farmer and during school I farm after school. I do everything from weed-eating and mowing to cutting hay and plowing the ground with a 425 horsepower John Deere. All while getting paid $10 dollars an hour.

Look up Chernobyl accident. The liquidators were the first ones on the scene and were actually shoveling up parts of the blown up core with very little if any protection. I think some were dead within hours.
