Smile pro street 65 F100 new pix !!!!!!!!!

have posted about 10 new pix in my gallery of my almost completed 65 f100,had full interior installed in it last several weeks, had door panels, headliner and center console fabricated from aluminum, then covered with ultraleather and snake skin highlights, all work was done by shawn cook of cooks auto top and trim.basically a one man shop who doesnt advertise, just word of mouth keeps him veryyyyyy busy, waiting list now is about 8 months to work you in,works out of his four bay garage in his backyard.he is not cheap but i am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.he does incredibe work, very neat and tidy, full of great ideas, hope to have the bed and louvered hood painted in the next few weeks and actually have the truck completed in time for summers last blast,a weekend outdoor cruise and car show in vernon ,tx,middle of august.will post more pix when hood and bed are painted and truck is complete, ready to race and show!!!!!!!!!!

thanks cobraguy, its taken several years, lots of trial and error, bunches of modifications and lots of help from several people.was my dads truck,he bought it new , was the only truck he ever owned, always garage kept,he passed away in 1991,i was second in line to inherit the truck,i had an older brother,4 yrs older than me,he died in 1990 at the age of 33.we would have fought over the right to own the truck because we both knew how much it meant to our dad,not to mention the way he cared for and maintained it.originally 352 with 3 speed on the column,in 1972 he swapped out the column and also installed a 428 police interceptor in it,shortly after my older brother who was about 17 challenged my dad to a drag race at green valley raceway which was about a mile from the house, his 396 68 chevelle against my dads old pickup complete with camper shell, welllllllllll, after being humbled by my dad twice that night my brother didnt have much to say, lol.my dad knew i was a drag racer at heart,i think he would be proud of all the time and effort i have put in to make his truck what it is today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clark, While the 428 didn't have the huge ports that the 427 did, it still has a huge heart. Them big guys put some power to the ground.

Great looking project so far.

Do you have an idea what you will have in it by the time you are finished?

Clark,,,, how can you desecrate that holy piece of steel with that pig iron you bolted to it. I would never put a rusty chevy in any of my Fords!!

48 effie, all i have to say to you is "to each their own",i'm not knocking you but different strokes for different folks is what makes the world what it is today.my first project in the early 80's was putting a 427 chevy with a bds 6-71 blower and 2-4's in my first car,a 70 olds cutlass, there werent too many blower cars on the street back then, and wow, what a head turner it was.street legal and was driven every weekend,(when there werent any clouds in the sky, lol).will have about 45k invested in this project when done, was my dads only pickup he EVER owned, would not take a million dollars for it,my son is 13 and it will eventually be his and hope he keeps it and passes it on to his son. i think he is really beginning to realize what the truck is becoming,he is starting to show a lot of interest lately as he sees it coming together.didnt put the bbc in it to offend anyone, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and opinions on my 65 f100 ,good or bad are welcome,it is what it is,i can say this, this truck will be quite unique when complete and that is EXACTLY what i was shooting for !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't take no offense from the purist just invite them to the track when she's broke in. The hard work you've put into it shows, great job!

Nice truck! Sad motor. If you'd have built a Ford motor it may have run like this...

Well then, at least put the Ford engine back into it before you give it to your son!! You do not want him walking around greasey! Yes I said walking because with a chevy drivetrain in it that is what he is going to be doing!! Well like you said, to each his own. Maybe he will like walking alot.
