I have a 36' Cedar Creek 5th wheel that likes to bounce and the two chairs in the back were moving around too much while underway, even if they were strapped together.
I've seen some of the tie downs that attach to the floor of the new RV's and though it was a good idea, but wasn't satisfied that the straps would prevent the chairs from moving into a bad position during travel. I have a pretty big mark on the window frame where the chairs rubbed up against it and tore the upholstery down to the frame.
So, scratching my head for a while, I finally thought of this and installed it.
The turnbuckles go to the part of the chair that rotates so not only does the chair stay put, but it won't turn either.
When you get to your destination, it's a 1 minute affair to loosen the turnbuckles and store them. Then you can place the chairs as you see fit and they sit on top of the loops that are still on the floor, hiding them nicely.
Very wife friendly.

I installed the hold downs as well. Very basic design, just a loop and a piece of metal to hold it down with two deck screws. You can remove them later on if desired and no visible marks on the carpeting.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I will do the same in my GearBox to keep the La-z-boys from moving around, And i all ready have floor tie downs. Thanks for the ideal Kwik.

kwik,
I have a 30' Crossroads that used to bounce. I've installed the Equaflex equalizers and that made a difference, especially going over the I5 Grapevine out here in SoCal. Our recliners haven't bounced since.

Squaredancer something like that is in the works. I just realized that my forward axle is bent and am going to set up a time with the place that I bought it from.

That has to be a lot neater to stow when camped than a bag or box full of bungie cords! I bet they go in a nearby drawer...
The lack of flex (that bungies would have) probably keeps the chairs from damaging eachother even when they stay put, and turnbuckles like that don't wear out and stretch over time.
Kwik - you are "BINGO!" right on the money with that one...
