1st, please no leftist commie pinkos telling my about the environment. my one truck would kill an Alaskan Moose.
I live in Florida where we have no inspections. I can run straight pipes if I want. I have a 5.8 4x4 with a "y" single exhaust. I will be dualing it and not putting the Cat back in. but what about all this crap under the hood. What can I take out and what caps, chips, bubble gun and duct tape do I need to put on the holes, tubes and wires ;-)

Make sure you use a crossover or 'H' pipe if you go duals--you need it to help normalize cylinder pressures.
Most of the emissions stuff on your truck doesn't rob power. Why? Because at WOT the EGR valve closes, taking the vast majority of it out of the equation. But, removing all that stuff will mean it will be more difficult for the computer to produce an efficient burn, meaning your mileage will likely go down. So if you're just looking for some cheap HP by ripping stuff off your engine, don't bother. If you're looking to build a race engine or rock-crawler, that's a different story, but then there are plenty of $$ to be spent. Since you're looking at opening up the exhaust a bit, you might also consider a better intake (like the K&N FIPK--cold air cone filter setup). I'm pretty sure your '94 5.8 is speed density, so you're kind of limited on what you can do without spending a whole bunch o' cash.
Some other things you could do to help it a bit are: run Seafoam through it, re-route the PCV tube to the main vacuum tree on the plenum (helps keep the #8 cylinder from burning ALL of the crankcase fumes), advance your timing until it pings, then back it off a degree or two (you don't want it to ping at all).
