I have a '03 excursion with 27,000 miles. Bought new and used mainly for towing enclosed car trailer approx 7-8,000 lbs. Have been back to the dealer numerous times for problems; mainly a loud noise like a flutter or noisy wastegate turbo? under acceleration with loss of power. Sometimes blows black smoke when this happens. Problem is not always there, sometimes runs fine. The dealer has installed some new injectors, egr, new turbo hoses, reprogrammed the computer and more. Problem has just resurfaced again while towing last week. Have extended ford warranty. Looking for a dealer in northern New Jersey (near or in Bergen county) who knows the 6.0 diesel. Anyone out there who can help me.
