52 Rocker Panels

I am installing a new set of rockers on my 52 cab, the new rockers extend into the front cowl and rear door post, any advice on how to put these guys on. I am also putting in a new full floor pan and my thoughts were to get the rockers in first so I have some good material to mig the floor to and it is straight.

Thanks for any help as I don't want to srew it up.

First replace the cab mounts with new ones so it is sitting properly. Next fit the doors adjusting the body until the gaps are even all around and the doors open and close properly. Now weld in some braces across the door opening, one across the lower portion and one diagonal to hold the opening shape (1x1 angle iron or square tubing works well for bracing). Finally you can now cut out the original rockers and replace them. Leave the bracing in place while you do the floor as well. If you are replacing the entire floor then you want to add some across the cab braces as well. Once you are all done welding cut the braces out and admire your job well done.

52 Rockers

The cab mounts are OK, the door gaps are good, the cab is bolted to a dolly made of 2" square tubing. I will get some 1" square and add the bracing.

Thanks
