What steering wheels fit a 56 column?

My 56 F100 is fitted with a Toyota power steer set up using the stock column and wheel.

The original wheel is too big and I wish to go to a smaller size. What other wheels interchange in a smaller size.?

But... The '56 wheel is exactly how Henry wanted it. Perfect. =) I also LOVE the tilt (or lack thereof). Hehe, just joshin' ya. I have no idea.

It's been a long time since I dabbled with these but if I remember correctly 49-57 will interchange (F1, F2, F3, F-100, F-250, and F-350). However, those wheels are probably all about the same size so your best bet might be to use an adapter and put an aftermarket wheel on it. Check with Grant Products for an adapter and wheel at www.grantproducts.com.

I'm using a 15" wheel on my Ididit column/Toy box and IMHO it's about the right size. Most of the replacement wheels on the market are aimed at the import/early hotrod market and are 13" which to me looks too small. My wheel is a Grant. The wheels used thru 50s were large to give more leverage for the "armstrong" steering. The stock wheel feel like you are driving a bus.

I am also using a 15 inch Grant although not on an original column. With PS a 15 inch wheel works great and it doesn't look like something from a dune buggy...

I`m not real sure but it seems anything from the mid 70`s down Ford will work.
I put a 78 ? Mustang steering wheel on an old 60 F600 just to move it around the yard.

I have thought of using a Grant or simular wheel but was hoping that something from an early Mustang may work.

I agree on the size at 15 inch.

I have a friend who uses a 13 inch wheel on a power steer F100 and the feel is all wrong.

Looks like a Grant wheel is the answer.
